What are people saying about Campsites and Wireless?

“I use my caravan a lot when working away from home, so my situation then is no different to when I'm at home, so an internet connection is important.”

“For many of us our first port of call to do some research is on t'internet.  It would be very handy indeed to have WiFi installed on site to allow you to look up local attractions, check the met office web site or plan a route.”

“….admit it is not essential, but if it were provided I am sure many would take it up when on site.”

“…I wouldn’t have Electricity either, certainly wouldn’t have TV or def not Satellite. I understand its all horses for courses and each to their own, but if I wanted Internet, TV and Satellite I may as well stay at home!”

“I require the internet when I go away in the caravan or tent, just a way of life unfortunately for me.  Joys of running your own business.”

“The internet is an essential tool in modern day living.  It is a convenient and easy way of retrieving information.  If you don't need it or want it while away in the caravan then please don't question or mock those that do.”

“Modern technology is taking over, it will be offered on a lot of sites I’m very sure of that, because you cannot halt the progress, But I still stand by my view of  - I’m camping, I’m sleeping in a field, heating my kettle up on a funny gas stove and stepping on frogs on the way to the toilet when its peeing down at night - why would I want the net?  It wont bother me that the person next to me is reading their mail, ordering their groceries or surfing some dodgy Swedish site.”

“They charge a nominal fee for this - usually about 50p for 10 minutes. That's about as long as I want to be on any computer while I'm on holiday. Just long enough to check my bank account and clear down any e-mails so that I don't have a bloody great backlog of c**p when I get home.”

”I don't think it's sad (using today's parlance) that people need their computers while on holiday.”

“If I am able to access my computer whilst away it means that I can then stay away a little bit longer and hence let my kids have more fun and time on holiday.”

“The provision of a wireless broad band connection is a service that all sites should provide and as with electric hook ups, hair dryers and showers, it is for the individual to make use of, or not, as they see fit.”

“I too run a web based business, and also need to log on every few days to check messages and enquiries, if this isn't done then there's a chance that a vital sale or customer goodwill may be lost. ... you have a question about a product that you need answering before purchasing, you email the company but several days go by without a response, what do you do? you go and purchase elsewhere, probably thinking that the company can't be bothered to respond.”

“If the demand for internet connection is high then site owners should take note.”

“…..having the provision for access at campsites would be invaluable for researching local attractions”

“I don't use the laptop to run a business but more as a hobby and a means of keeping in touch. I'd rather check and send e-mails at my leisure than be on the end of a mobile phone.”

“I take my laptop with me, I use it to watch DVD's and TV is saves space and it would be great to have a wee surf when its raining.”
